Recently, I was talking with several people from the Lutheran church. This piece just popped into my mind. Written in about 1630, the text is by Johann Heermann and tune by Johann Crüger.  Most know the piece as “Ah, Holy Jesus.”

I have written a simple harmonization that would be a great filler piece in church or when performing music from the 1600s.
