As head of the Central Oregon Mayflower and Wampanoag Descendants, I had written and submitted an article for The Mayflower Quarterly Magazine about presentations and events we planned to do this Mayflower 400 year. But with the pandemic, all events were cancelled.
The editor of the magazine then asked if I would just write a couple of paragraphs. I’m delighted it got printed in the Summer 2020 edition!
- My book is mentioned: The Mayflower at Cape Cod – Stories, activities, and research that connect 1620 with life today. Grades 6-12
For some fun details and photos from this book, please go to my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/RebeccaLocklearwriter. I wrote six posts in May. It’s a great family book for this summer!
Order it digitally for about $12.00 or a print copy from me: $20. + $4. shipping. (BTW, it costs $16.40 to print each book. Grrr.)
“I downloaded The Mayflower at Cape Cod yesterday, and it is a gold mine.” David, Nevada Governor, General Society of Mayflower Descendants
- In the brief article, I included a friend and Mayflower descendant,
Jacqueline Newbold. She’s a watercolor and mixed media artist who is making greeting cards specific to the flora and fauna of the Pilgrim region and time period.
These will be available on July 1, 2020. Visit www.newboldart.com to order cards.
