Homeschool Moms Night Out: The Mayflower Controversy
Do you believe the Pilgrims should be held responsible for the eventual decimation of Native People? Do you think young children should dress up as Pilgrims and Indians?
These issues surround the Mayflower 400 event this year– the 400th anniversary of the landing of the Mayflower.
During our discussion we will investigate relevant history and then dive into issues such as migration, conflict and survivors, religion, freedom, and judgement. We will delve into whom to blame or how to respond! The goal is to approach these issues with sensitivity and compassion.
